JUST ANOTHER OPINION.....

So many people think that Howard Stern is a complicated guy, but he really isn't.

One of the reasons why I listen to Howard is because the show is psychoanalytical.  Let's face it, it makes us feel less crazy to hear Howard and the rest of the crew talk about their insecurities, neurosis, addictions, afflictions. In fact, we can all relate to these things because we have had similar experiences from our childhood.  We don't get out of childhood without having some issues.

So Howard's big issue that he brought with him from childhood is his OCD.  Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is often called the "Disease of Doubt"  It is more common than we think with one out of every 40 people sharing it.  There are degrees to which people have OCD.  Some of the symptoms include fear of being contaminated, doubts that you turned off your stove, or locked your door, intense distress when things are not in order, repetitive behavior such as counting, hair pulling, and in more severe cases, skin lesions because of pulling at the skin.  I'll bet that everyone has some of these behaviors to a certain extent.  Some people are obsessed with exercise or shopping.  Some are obsessed with crappy reality TV.  Then there are others like me, who are obsessed with Howard Stern.  Take your pick, we all have them.

From what I have gathered from listening to Howard is he has been attending therapy three times per week, for about ten plus years.  The only treatment that I know of, that is that intensive, is either psychoanalysis, (talk therapy) or short term addiction/recovery treatment.  So I am going to assume here that Howard is in psychoanalysis.  Recently, on more than one occasion, he stated that he didn't think the therapy was working.

OCD is not conducive to psychoanalytical treatment.  It is not uncommon to see people who have OCD stuck for years in therapy with no improvement.  In fact, psychoanalysis may make it worse by repeatedly talking about it three times a week.  You can't move forward into your life if you are constantly living in the past.  If you are living in the past three times a week, for 10 years it's too much!  Howard needs to break the cycle, but psychoanalysis tends to perpetuate repetitive behaviors.  To effectively treat OCD there needs to be a behavioral component.  An action part.  Changing your thoughts and behaviors, changes your feelings. But, that would require doing something different!  And Howard doesn't like change.

I think Howard would get more out of therapy if he got a female therapist.  My theory is that many of Howards issues and frustration surround around his mother and the way she raised him.  Those issues would be more productively worked through with a female therapist.

Call me Howard, I think I can help you!

 HOLY "G", BATMAN!

Robin is too funny!  She actually went out and finally got her breast size measured.  Something that women all over America are doing now as a rusult of the Oprah Show.  I was just having this conversation with some women in my office building yesterday.  We were all big breasted women and finally went and was measured and we were all bigger than we thought!

The truth is, a lot of big breasted women are embarrassed at having big breasts.  I know that guys don't really get it.  Don't try.  We understand.

We are bombarded by the skinny women who are on magazine covers.  And we think we are supposed to look like them - "boobs on a stick."  We try to convince ourselves that we're smaller sized because that would make us more skinny and we continue to wear that size even though we pop out of our bras!   I mean, have you ever looked at a DD bra?  They are huuugggge.

Wow,  a "G".  Now that is really big.  And Robin loves it!

Robin is an inspiration to women everywhere.  She is very happy and proud of who she is and how she looks!!  I wish more women could have her attitude.  She takes a lot of shit from those guys, yet she gives it right back, too.  She is definitely outnumbered, but she can hold her own.  It must be those "Gigantic G's"!

Now poor Lil Mikey will have to work overtime to get all those songs changed.  I thought it was funny that Howard was collaborating with Lil Mikey on the new lyrics!

IAN HALPERIN - HE'S NO DICK TRACY

Wow, I was so disturbed by the segment on Ian Halperin author of “Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson”, that I had to blog about it. This guy is so full of crap.  The author is clearly trying to sell books, and therefore creating some controversy, because that’s what sells.  I am only writing in response to what was on the show because I have not and will not read the book.  The main reason that the author sites for Michael Jackson’s innocence is because he says the child could not describe Michael Jackson’s penis.  First of all, molestation does not have to include use of his penis.  Sexual molestation – a term in which defining offenses in which an adult engages in non-penetrative activity with a minor for the purpose of sexual gratification or profit, for example, exposing the minor to pornography or to the sexual acts of others. Many times alcohol is used either by the perpetrator only, or given to the child as part of the grooming process.

Secondly, a young child who has been sexually abused or molested very often dissociates from the abuse as the trauma is occurring.  This is a human defensive mechanism that the brain allows because the trauma that is happening is so horrific.  A child is petrified of any adult who has power over them and misuses this power.  Just think about the power an icon like Michael Jackson would have over an innocent child.

The author contradicted himself many times on the show.  He said over and over that Michael Jackson was “an incredible father”.  Are you kidding me?  When Howard asked him about the incident where Wacko dangled his baby son Blanket over the balcony, he said “he was stoned” and then went on to blame the “doctors” around him.   Does a stoned parent who dangles their child over a balcony sound like “an incredible father” to you??  Why is Michael Jackson not responsible for his own behavior?

How about when he told his daughter Paris that he wouldn’t live to see the next Father’s Day, the author said “he’s just calling a spade a spade”.  Huh??  Or when Howard asked if it was true that Michael Jackson gave alcohol to children?  The author said “yes there is truth to that BUT, he was an alcoholic and the only person who stepped up to help him was Liz Taylor by getting him into rehab”.   As I stated earlier, alcohol is often involved in sexual abuse and molestation.  Inappropriate boundaries and blurred lines between parental figure and the child is a breeding ground for molestation.  Michael Jackson’s boundaries were very questionable and the things that the author reports, suggests to me that he was a very unfit parental role model.

The author used a lot of phrases like “my sources say” and it’s documented”, but the truth is, those phrases don’t mean anything.  I can document anything.  Write it down, it’s documented.  So what?  Every time he said “my sources say” he would contradict it by saying “you can’t trust the people around him”, well aren’t they the same people as your sources?    If they aren’t then how do they know?  It’s just his opinion, that’s it.  He has absolutely no proof of anything, because the fact is that child molestation is the hardest crime to prove because there is never any “evidence”.  There are no witnesses that come forward.  There are only two people in the room, the perpetrator and the victim.  It’s an adult’s word against a child’s word.  Nobody ever believes the child.

I don’t know of any insurance company that would pay 23 million dollars to a victim if they didn’t think they would lose.  I can’t get my insurance company to pay when I go to the doctor for a sick visit.  They always try to find a way to get out of it. And forget about billing an insurance company for a therapy session. It’s a fiasco to get paid.  This guy is not credible and I don’t believe a thing he says.  He is trying to sell his worthless book to the people who want to believe that Michael Jackson is innocent.

I don’t buy it and I won’t buy this crappy book.

Ok, I feel better now…
